Kit Scale Date
Mikromir 72-006 Moskalev SAM-13 1/72 March 2022

This little kit from Mikromir is one of the smallest I’ve ever build, with a wingspan of just about 10 cm. For it’s small frame it is a rather busy plane with twin-booms push-pull configuration. Combined with my soft spot for unknown aircraft, it fascinates me quite a bit and I’m happy with it in my collection.

It was largely an out-of-the box build. Not that there are any aftermarket parts available. Fitting was okay. The connection of the tail beams needed a bit of TLC. I did add some cockpit details. However, as the canopy plastic is rather thick, not much is visible. I’ve also opted to add some more depth to the wheel wells and drill replace the exhausts with brass wires.

I’ ve also added two machine guns in the fuselage as I wanted to depict a What-If production aircraft. The aircraft was planned with 4 7.62 ShKAS machine guns, but i doubt the little thing would’ve endured that. For the camouflage, I also opted for a standard, 1941 Soviet AMT-4 Green over AMT-7 Blue scheme. The decals are spares from various other kits.
