Kit: 1/72 AML 72024 | Göppingen Gö 9

The Göppingen Gö 9 was a an experimental German research aircraft. It was essentially a Dornier Do 17 scaled down to 40% size with a pusher propeller to research the effects of such a configuration. The layout proved successful, eventually leading to the Dornier Do 335

This kit by AML might be the smallest plane in my collection. Measuring only 10 by 9,4 cm, it more resembles a 1/144 scale Do 17. This means the kit itself is quite simple as well, measuring only a single sprue with 26 part, some resin cockpit parts, and a vacuum formed canopy. I did add some seat belts, added a correct instrument panel, replaced the exhausts with brass tubing and scratched build the nose wheel.

The decals required some work to correctly fit with the open landing gear, and in hindsight, i did place them wrong. All in all, a quick, fun little kit.
